What the tradition says Draft
What is Sade Sati?
Saturn passing over the sign before your Moon sign, your Moon sign and the sign after: about two and a half years in each, so about seven and a half in all. Saturn sometimes moves back for a few months, so a phase can come twice.
Defouw and Svoboda, “Light on Life” (1996)What does it mean?
Hindi practice reads Sade Sati as a time of work, patience and responsibility: results come slower, not never. The same practice says it depends on Saturn's place in your own chart, so two people's Sade Sati can differ a lot.
Hindi practice, not a classical verseIs there an upay?
The tradition's upay is Shani's verse from the Navagraha Stotra, on Saturdays. It's offered as tradition, not a promise of results, and nothing needs to be bought.
